Update

Hi from San Pedro! Just a quick update on what's been going on in the last couple of weeks:

  • Stephen and family attended the Light Your World 2008 missions conference at Destiny Church from Jan. 20-25. We were blessed with great speakers and hosts and were encouraged that this year would be a year of breakthroughs.
  • El Calor played their opening game of the season last Saturday and won 5-0 despite being down 2 players.
  • We have started to work out of the new building with our children's breakfast, although the structure is not yet complete. Please continue to pray for this ministry, that God will provide people, food, materials, and money to complete and expand the work that has begun.
  • We held a follow-up leaders meeting on Wednesday to check how we are progressing toward our goals as a church. We are happy to report that we have seen an increased number of young people attending as a result of consistent invitations and visits from church youth. We have also begun a home church in San Rafael, a town about 25 minutes outside of San Pedro, and another in San Antonio de Gurza, about 10 minutes outside of San Pedro.

Happy New Year

Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Happy New Year! As we begin another year, we pray that you will experience the peace and blessing of God as you continue to serve him and seek his will for your life. Now is the time when many of us resolve to change our lives for the better, to give up old habits and become more like our "ideal self". And, as we all know, these resolutions tend not to last as long as we would like. However, the one thing we can always count on is the love and mercy of God. He promised to love us from the beginning of time, and his promise is renewed not every year, but every day.

This week the ministry team has held meetings to pray for and plan the church's activities and outreaches. We are planning new churches, more direct outreaches, and several new projects. More details will be posted as these things develop, but please be in prayer for us, for endurance, creativity, faithfulness, and above all, an openness to the voice of God.
